Saturday, March 12, 2016 - Mardi Gras - The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn
Cultural Arts Committee presents: The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn will rock our ballroom with New Orleans-flavored Dixieland in their inimitable style.
Just close your eyes and believe you are in New Orleans for a Mardi Gras fest. The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn are a Dixieland, swing, and blues band, composed of an acoustic Guitar, upright bass, homemade washboard percussion, trumpet, clarinet, and saxophone.
They performed at Canal Walk over three years ago to rave reviews and demands to have them return with their exuberant style and fabulous music.
The Vipers have performed in and around New York, Florida, and California. They "wowed" Bette Midler, played for Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. They performed at Lincoln Center Plaza and for Farm Aid. “The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn provided fantastic entertainment” ...commented Willie Nelson.
Hear favorites such as Way Down Yonder in New Orleans, St. Louis Blues, Basin Street Blues, Bill Bailey, It's Only A Paper Moon, and Sittin' On The Dock of A Bay to name just a few of the familiar New Orleans style music this talented group will play. This is sure to be a sellout... you won’t want to miss this fun evening!
